House of Watercolor is a studio run by artist Heidi Ahmed. She aims to “bring the outdoors in” with striking paintings that capture the essence of nature through the bold and fluid qualities of watercolor.
In addition to painting wildlife, her work focuses on education regarding both watercolor technique and the subject matter itself. She collaborates with various societies including zoos, rescue organizations, and wildlife sanctuaries by using her art for fundraising and promoting conservation efforts.
When she is not in her studio painting, she can be found reading, wandering through the woods, or visiting her local zoo to capture reference photos.
"There is something in the quiet of nature where my imagination is allowed to roam free and explore without limits."
This is where all the creative magic happens! My studio space is constantly changing depending on the project I am working on. I tend to collect little things that inspire me from nature or antique stores and arrange them around the room like a bower bird.
